Raising Australian Shepherds responsibly & ethically.
Welcome to our page, my name is Lourdes Vega and my fiance's name is Cain Knapp. We originally started breeding after purchasing our first Australian Shepherd, Bailey. We absolutely fell in love with the energy, intelligence, and conformation of the breed and decided to jump in by researching. After studying and acquiring a mentor, we committed to breeding Aussies. Over the years, we have grown so much and continued to educate ourselves on ethical breeding practices.
Our Breeding Practices
Before breeding our dogs, we ensure our dogs are health tested and genetic tested. We ensure our studs and females are breeding quality and conform to AKC and ASDR conformation standards. Our breeding dogs receive screenings from our reproductive vet before breeding as well. When our puppies arrive, they are checked by a veterinarian and occasionally tails and dewclaws are removed by a vet as well. We deworm at 4, 6 and 8 weeks old and all puppies receive scheduled shots and checks recommended by our vet. If you would like to learn more about our practices click here.
Puppy Socialization
We raise all of our puppies on a program called Puppy Culture. Puppy Culture is a complete program from whelping to the day they leave based on socializing puppies. Our goal is to provide a temperamentally sound, confident, curious puppy.
